Climbing
He started climbing at the age of 12, and four years later he began his international career by winning theWorld Youth Championship in Youth A category. In 2012 and 2013, he won the World Cup lead event overall, becoming the first Japanese to win the overall title two years in a row.
In 2015, he retired from competition and shifted his base of activities to rock climbing. In the same year, he became the first Japanese to complete the 5.15b "Fight or Flight," one of Spain's most famous routes, which had only been climbed by three world-class climbers at the time. This feat is still the hardest in Japan as of 2024. He succeeded in the second ascent of "Tinipi" 5.15a, located at an altitude of around 4000m on Mount Kinabalu in Malaysia, and quickly expanded his field of activities.
After that, he devoted himself to develop his own routes. In 2018, he made the first ascent of "Soul Mate," Japan's first 5.15b route, in Okutama, Tokyo. In 2022, he made the first ground-up ascent of "The Last One" 5.14b R on O-Yasuri peak in Mt. Mizugaki. He became an all-around climber recognized both in name and reality.
Currently, he concentrates on pioneering activities mainly in the Kanto area and Shodoshima Island, Kagawa Prefecture, and continues to search for the miracle lines that may still be lying dormant somewhere.
Coaching
In 2010, while competing, he began working as an exclusive coach for Tokyo's youth athletes who were training for national sport climbing competition, a position he continues to hold as of 2024. He is also the exclusive lead coach for Futaba Ito, a member of Japan's national team. He also coaches general climbers upon request. He helps climbers achieve their goals and become richer while clarifying what they are looking for and valuing the richness of the present moment above all else.
Meditation and Yoga
He discovered meditation in 2015 and started yoga the following year. Meditation and yoga have become a part of his daily routine, and are important times that he continue to practice every day. He continues to learn about the continuity of abundance in the present moment, how to live accepting yourself as you are, and how to be whole while being individual.
